Get better results from GenAI in legal work

Generative AI is rapidly finding its way into the day-to-day work of company lawyers. Yet using these tools well requires more than simply typing a question into Copilot. To get useful and reliable output, you need to know how to formulate clear instructions, provide the right context and assess the quality of the response. That is where prompting comes in.

This workshop helps legal teams use GenAI more effectively in day-to-day legal work by focusing on prompt design, practical use cases and the review of AI output. Best suited for legal teams that want better results from AI tools.

Ideal for legal teams that want to:

  • get more reliable output from generative AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot;
  • reduce prompting trial-and-error and obtain more reliable first-draft results;
  • understand how to review and refine AI output critically.

In this workshop, we look at:

  • how to write an effective prompt using five core building blocks: role, task, context, source and output;
  • how to use different prompting techniques;
  • how to improve the quality of AI output with tools and techniques that help draft, refine and analyse prompts;
  • how to apply prompting techniques in practice through hands-on exercises focused on legal research, document review and document drafting;
  • how to review AI output critically and identify its risks and limitations.

Participants leave with:

  • a practical framework for prompting in legal work;
  • prompt techniques they can use immediately;
  • a better understanding of where GenAI can and cannot add value in legal work;
  • greater confidence in using AI tools critically and effectively.
